Facilities and Features of Peavy Arboretum

The Firefighter Memorial ShelterThe Firefighter Memorial Shelter is a 45' wide open air shelter available to educational groups for rainy day use. The shelter, and the nine Willamette Valley ponderosa pine trees surrounding it, are dedicated to all who work to protect our forest resources. The pines commemorate the nine young Oregon firefighters who died fighting the South Canyon Fire, Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Enjoy the Arboretum by hiking one of our trails. Trail maps are available at the Badewitz kiosk, and can be viewed here.

A short, easy hike will take you to the Forestry Club Cabin and Cronemiller Lake. (Stop and visit the Big Wheels as you go past the Cabin.) The OSU Logging Sports Team practices and hosts logging sports events at the George Brown Sports Arena, located at the north end of the lake.

Peavy Lodge is used for OSU related events and is not currently available for public event rental.
