The Cameron Tract Hike

Meeting Location: park at the forest gate directly across from the Adair Rural Fire Protection District Station #1402. Address: 37096 NW Soap Creek Rd, Corvallis, Oregon

Approximate Length: Hike will be 2.5 miles in length, gaining and descending 400 feet of elevation.  

Description: The Elizabeth Starker Cameron Demonstration Forest is a special part of the Research Forest system.  With a variety of forest stand types and ages, ranging from old, open-grown Douglas-fir and madrone-dominated ridges to experimental plantings of sequoia and valley pine, it is a unique gem in the Soap Creek landscape. Join Dr. Mark E. Swanson, interim director of the College of Forestry Research Forest system, and learn more about these special 260 acres.
