Heads up! The Rogue One Harvest (phase 1) will begin tomorrow, August 7 on the McDonald Forest.

 

Harvest information:

  • Harvest Name: Rogue One (Phase 1)

  • Approximate Closure Duration: 2 months

  • Size: 19 acres (combined)

  • Prescription: Matrix thin (8.8 acres); Oak release (5.7 acres); Group selection (4.5 acres)

  • Harvest Objectives: This project is designed to create a second age class within the project area as well as release Oregon White Oak in the southern portion of the project area. The second age class will move this area from an even-aged Douglas-fir dominated stand to one with multiple age classes.

  • Last Harvested: 2015/ Precommercial Thinning.

  • Average Tree Age: 41 years old

  • Additional Restrictions: Reduced parking capacity at Oak Creek to facilitate hauling of logs
