Sat. October 18th: prescribed burn near Peavy Arboretum

This Saturday, a small prescribed burn is planned for two previous harvest units along the 522 Road north of the Research Forest office and Peavy Arboretum.  This burn is intended to train OSU students in prescribed fire use, reduce forest fuels, and promote native vegetation types (including Oregon oak woodland and valley pine woodland).  Forest neighbors and visitors may see prescribed fire personnel, or encounter smoke.  Roads and trails will remain open.
