Closures on the 400 road are being lifted as the Quarry operations have completed. Please note some minor road work is still to be completed

New Closure Starting

The Erso unit will be starting tomorrow on 10/8/25 on the McDonald Forest. Be aware that the 650 road and Dan’s connector to Dimple Hill will be closed until harvest operations are completed. Dimple Hill may still be accessed via Dan’s trail via Lower and Middle Dan’s Trail.

  • Approximate Closure Duration: 2 months
  • Size: 17.4 acres (combined)
  • Prescription: Group Selection & Thinning
  • Harvest Objectives: This project is designed to create a third age class within the project area as well as release Oregon white oak in a portion of the project area. The third age class will move this area from an even-aged Douglas-fir dominated stand to one with multiple age classes over time.
  • Closed Roads: 650 Rd.
  • Closed Trails: Dan’s Connector
  • Last Harvested: 2015/ Precommercial Thinning.
  • Average Tree Age: 41 years old
  • Additional Restrictions:  Reduced parking capacity at Oak Creek to facilitate hauling of logs
